Wikipedia - 2023 World Matchplay

The 2023 World Matchplay (known as the 2023 Betfred World Matchplay), was the 30th annual staging of the World Matchplay, organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The tournament took place at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, from 15 to 23 July 2023.

Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion, after winning his third World Matchplay title in 2022, defeating Gerwyn Price 18–14, but was eliminated in the first round, losing 7–10 to Brendan Dolan.

Nathan Aspinall won his first World Matchplay title and second Premier title overall, defeating Jonny Clayton 18–6 in the final.

The 2023 Women's World Matchplay also took place during the event, as Beau Greaves won her first televised championship by defeating Mikuru Suzuki 6–1 in the final.

Světová výstava Matchplay se uskuteční v aréně Winter Gardens v anglickém Blackpoolu od 15. do 23. července 2023. Jedná se o jeden z nejprestižnějších turnajů šipek na světě a zúčastní se ho 32 nejlepších hráčů na světě.

Obhájcem titulu je Gerwyn Price z Walesu, který se bude snažit obhájit svůj titul a získat svůj třetí titul World Matchplay. Mezi další favority na vítězství patří Peter Wright ze Skotska, Michael van Gerwen z Nizozemska a Michael Smith z Anglie.

Turnaj se bude hrát formátem dvouhry a každý zápas bude trvat na 12 setů. Vítěz bude mít nárok na finanční odměnu 150 000 £.

Světová výstava Matchplay 2023 slibuje, že bude dalším vzrušujícím turnajem šipek a určitě poskytne hodně zábavy a napětí.
